Chapter 12: Passion vs. Passion, Strength vs. Mind
“So, you are the saber wielding slicer that’s been causing trouble. Amazing how you are able to control your power. I am just surprised that you’re even standing in front of me alive.” Corran sighed as Tigress drew her own dual red lightsabers. “Unfortunately, Lord Twig and his men couldn’t seem to handle you. What a shame. I will have to work after all.” When Tigress said this, Corran’s eyes went wide. No doubt he had met Twig before, but that was none of her concern. She twirled her lightsabers around, and then charged at Corran. He jumped to the roof and held on with the Force. She followed him up and slashed at him with one saber, throwing the other to pursue him when he sprinted. He rolled, the saber barely missing him. Then it hit him. A bubble with lightning, Sith Seeker, caught him. He was shocked and stunned, but didn’t seem to be damaged. He could still function, but blood was coming from all over his torso, where he had been hit. He also felt that the air was knocked out of him. He saw Tigress jump down at him with the point of her lightsaber speeding towards him. Everything seemed to slow down around him. He only had one shot. He let out a devastating Force Scream. Tigress was sent flying into the roof, also crashing into a metal pillar that seemed to activate its protective force field, shocking her. Corran took advantage of this moment and slammed her to the ground with the Force. He walked towards her, put both palms on her head, and let out a terrifying shock going down her entire body.
Twig sensed something. A cry for help. It sounded like it came from the Dark Lord herself. It served her right. How dare she even think he is weak, when she herself was. He smiled. He will wait until Tigress was weakened enough, and then kill the spy and her. He would then ascend to the throne of Dark Lord, where he shall be addressed as such. He will not be supportive of a monarchy system of government. He was struck with so much excitement. He would never get this chance again. He headed towards the mainframe at a relaxing pace. He was in no hurry.
Tigress lashed out with the Force and threw Corran across the room with a Force Repulse. She took her one lightsaber and lunged it at Corran, then back flipped and pushed. He blocked, and dashed at her, disarming her and throwing her at a wall again. “Oh no you don’t!” yelled Tigress as she kicked off the wall. She shot red lightning out of her hands and formed them into swords. She slashed at Corran, who blocked as predicted. She dismissed the red lightning which went through his lightsabers and was then strangling his entire body. She then clenched her fist, crushing Corran’s skeleton. “Concentrate. Concentrate!” Corran repeated into his mind. He channeled the Force into his desire to live. “Good” Corran thought as his body was reassembling itself. This technique wasn’t just for healing. Corran smiled as the bleeding from one of his wounds on his right arm started to increase. Tigress seemed confused. His blood started piling on itself, and then completely dried and hardened. His entire right arm was a sword of blood. Tigress charged and slashed at it with a powerful jump attack. Her blades didn’t go through. Corran smiled.
Tigress was struck with shock. “How…?” she muttered. Corran knew what had just happened, but he was really starting to weaken now. This ability was meant to be used as a first attack, but also a last resort. It was a now or never kind of thing. In the state that he was in, Corran considered that he had just put himself in more danger. Even if he lived through this, how would he get out? How bad will the results be? They had to be, as he expected this to be the hardest thing he has ever done. He didn’t expect to ever work for the military again, or even be able to. He quickly slid the sword across the saber blade, defusing the lock they were in. Now he stabbed at her, but Tigress was too slow to completely dodge. Better said, the weapon was just too fast. After all, he used the midichlorians in his blood cells to successfully take control of his blood stream. All he had to do was manipulate them with the Force, which was a result of the good amount of midichlorians he had. Not only did the Force make the blade sharper, but also increased the speed of it. It was also lighter than it looked. Even without the Force, he would be his lightest because of the amount of blood he had out now.
Tigress hissed and swore as she had just been carved by her opponents own blade of blood. This guy was getting more impressive every minute of combat. She remembered that he was still weak, and it must be taking all he had to pull this whole blood thing off. All she had to do was avoid him, and he will be down. She would do that if she could. He had made a huge wound at Tigress’s thigh. It seemed that they were even. Then she sensed him. Corran did too, showing this by having his eyes wide open by being high alerted. Lord Twig had then entered the room, clapping his hands and smiling. He let out a laugh. “Perfect. I have lured you two against each other, almost killing one another. You just about have, as you have fought each of your defenses off. Now I shall do the finishing touches, take credit for eliminating this powerful spy by myself, and becoming the true Dark Lord of the Sith that the galaxy needs. Coexisting with the {Jedi}? Are you mad Tigress? Even though we would have killed each other in the process, why didn’t you kill the Chancellor and the entire Senate. So what if our empire was at an end, but theres would be too. You have given them time to rebuild, and they shall strike back. If I hadn’t become the Dark Lord.” Twig pulled out his double-bladed red lightsaber. “Traitor!” Tigress shouted. “Traitor? You’re the traitor. You let us all down, and now we are stuck living with our new neighbors the {Jedi}. They are our enemies! If the isn’t betrayal, than what is?” For a Kel Dor, Twig had little self-control at the moment. “As for you.” Twig said as he pointed at Corran. “I will not let you escape me again, {Jedi} scum! Prepare to die right next to your own Savior!” Twig charged at him.
Corran could only see Twig charging at him. He couldn’t defend himself. His blood was weakened, and he doubt he could block the upcoming attack and not die. It was impossible. All he could do was sit there. Tigress didn’t know what to do. She just wanted to do something, kill Twig. How dare he call her a traitor. If only he knew. Despite her wound, she took her hand off it and did a Force Detonation right at Twig. It barely hit him, as he was sent flying towards the wall with lightning shocking him. She let out a Sith Seeker, which seemed to have somewhat slowed Twig. Corran then charged, giving what little he had left. He jabbed at Twig with his blood sword, who managed to redirect the blow to his left arm. Twig screamed in pain as Corran fell to the floor. Tigress realized that Corran was done, and she gave everything she had too. She jumped in the air spinning with her two lightsabers. If she hit Twig in the right spot, he would die immediately. If she hit him in any other, she would probably kill him and get herself killed, faster if she wasn’t going to live. All she could do was hope. Hope. She hadn’t done that in a long time.
Twig fell to the ground in silence. His body then fell into two pieces with his left arm completely amputated. Tigress was on her knees. She looked over to Corran, and crawled over to him. Now her blood was really spilling out. She debated what to do with him, but didn’t get to make her decision.
